Physiotherapists (Physical Therapists) and other clinicians frequently have direct contact with patients, making them vulnerable to infectious illness transmission. Physiotherapists and other health professionals must therefore be familiar with COVID-19 and how to prevent its spread, as well as how they may participate in workforce planning. They must use their professional judgement to decide when, when, and how to offer care, keeping in mind that this is not necessarily the best environment for everyone concerned. At the same time, we must remember that our profession is critical to the health of our community, and that there are people in our communities whose health may be adversely affected by care disruptions.

  • Minimize exposure in your setting
  • Get involved in workforce planning
  • Get educated - all staff should be trained

Yoga is having a big influence on traditional physical treatment. Yoga combines meditation, breathing exercises, self-reflection, body alignment, and balance to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Its popularity has grown throughout time as a result of its adaptability to fit any age, condition, or athletic aptitude. New research suggests that yoga can help heal numerous muscles at once when used in conjunction with traditional physical therapy, potentially speeding up recovery, increasing muscle action and focussing the mind. The more we learn about the benefits of those seemingly disparate areas of health, the more we realise that combining the two extends far beyond flexibility and strength.
